Scholarships

This is a preliminary announcement – we expect more scholarships to be available.

A number of student grants will be provided, to reimburse part of the participants travel & registration costs.

  • approximately 28 EurAI grants ranging from 200 to 400 euros; these student grants will be offered by EurAI, and will be paid to the successful applicants after School. The grants will be allocated based on anticipated travel costs, and academic merit.
  • The Hellenic AI Society is also providing 12 EETN student fee waiver grants (covers registration fees) to students coming from Greek universities. 

Application Process

EurAI grants

Applications should mention whether the applicant will be receiving travel support from other sources, and should also include

  • a brief CV, including a paragraph on how you anticipate the School to help you (academically or professionally)
  • some proof of full-time graduate or undergraduate student status (for instance, this can simply be a letter or an email from your supervisor or from your departmental office of graduate or undergraduate studies verifying your status), or a scan of your student id
  • please note that postdocs  or early-career researchers (at most 3 years from acquiring their PhD) can also apply for funding – please provide some sort of proof (e.g. a link to an academic/industrial webpage verifying your status, a short letter/email from your employer, or a scan of your PhD degree)

Deadline for applying: 5 April 2019

Notification of acceptance: 22 April 2019

Please include “ACAI-2019 EurAI Student Grant Application” in the e-mail’s subject.

Please note that successful applicants will still need to register for the School, and will be required to do so by the “Grants Awardees’ registration deadline”, i.e. 1st of May 2019.

If a successful applicant fails to register by the above deadline, his/her grant will be allocated to a runner-up.

To receive the grant, successful applicants may need to produce original travel & accommodation invoices/tickets/boarding passes/receipts.

Please note that the grants will be awarded to the successful applicants after the event.

EETN student grants

EETN (the Hellenic AI Society) is providing 12 student fee waiver grants (covers registration fees) to students coming from Greek universities. Note that if you are not a member of EETN you can become one today.
